Technical Requirements

Everything you need to know about the technical specifications and system requirements for our financial modelling programmes starting in autumn 2025.

System Requirements & Technical Specifications

  • Computer Specifications

We recommend a modern computer with at least 8GB RAM and a dual-core processor. Windows 10/11, macOS 10.14+, or recent Linux distributions work perfectly fine. Most laptops from the last four years will handle our coursework without issues.

    Minimum: 4GB RAM, 1.6GHz processor | Recommended: 8GB+ RAM, 2.4GHz+ processor
  • Software Requirements

Microsoft Excel 2016 or newer is essential for our financial modelling work. We also use Python 3.8+ for advanced analytics modules. Don't worry if you haven't used Python before — we'll teach you everything from scratch starting with basic syntax.

Excel Online works for basic tasks, but desktop version preferred for complex models
  • Internet Connection

A stable broadband connection is necessary for our interactive online sessions and accessing cloud-based resources. We stream lectures in HD and use collaborative tools that require consistent connectivity.

Minimum 5 Mbps download speed recommended for seamless video streaming
  • Additional Tools

We'll introduce you to industry-standard tools like Bloomberg Terminal (via university access), Tableau for data visualization, and various financial databases. All specialized software licenses are provided as part of your programme fees.

No upfront software costs — all professional tools included in programme
  • Hardware Peripherals

A webcam and microphone are essential for live sessions and group projects. Most modern laptops have these built-in, but external options work great too. A second monitor isn't required but many students find it helpful for complex financial models.

Built-in laptop camera and mic sufficient | External peripherals optional but beneficial
